Why you can burn KRW 10 million on ads and still sell nothing
The structural reasons performance marketing alone doesn't sell, and what a brand should check before raising its ad budget.

Ad spend goes up every month, but sales stay flat. You put KRW 10 million into Meta and don't sell a single product. This isn't rare. The problem isn't the size of your ad budget. It's what happens after the ad brings people in.
Ads buy traffic. They don't create a reason to buy
Performance ads are good at bringing people in. But why those people should buy from this brand is a question the brand has to answer, not the ad. Without that answer—a message, a storyline, proof that earns trust—even the most precise targeting ends with people looking around and leaving.
That's how you get the paradox where spending more on ads only increases your losses. You're pouring more water into a leaky bucket.
4 things to check before you raise your ad budget
- Message: Can you state in one sentence why someone should buy from this brand?
- Conversion path: Does the page people land on after clicking the ad lead naturally to a purchase?
- Proof: Do reviews, data, and real-use content clear away the doubts people have right before buying?
- Channel dependence: Would sales collapse if a single channel went dark?
In most cases, the problem isn't too little ad budget. It's that the place the ad sends people isn't ready.
Numbers are symptoms, not causes
Metrics like CPC, ROAS, and CTR show you the symptom—what went wrong—but they don't tell you the cause. Metrics alone can't tell you whether a low conversion rate comes from the creative, the landing page, or the price and product. To find the cause, you have to look beyond the ad, at the brand and the entire purchase journey.
Before Dongle Media Lab suggests spending more on ads, we diagnose what is actually holding sales back. Whether the bottleneck is branding, content, or the conversion path, we work through it with specialists in that area.
